Prime Analytical Incorporated (Prime Analytical Inc.) is an environmental testing laboratory located in Toronto, Ontario. The laboratory provides analytical testing specializing in asbestos and combustion by-products. The laboratory services includes analysis of asbestos in bulk material and qualitative combustion by-product analysis by polarized light microscopy (PLM) and determination of airborne fibre levels by phase contrast microscopy (PCM).

 

The laboratory analyzes bulk samples for asbestos by calibrated visual estimate following the EPA 600/R-93/116 method. We also provide point count analysis and gravimetric reduction of the samples which is available upon client’s request. Prime Analytical Inc. also provides air sample analysis using the NIOSH 7400 method. Transmission Electron Microscopy testing for asbestos can be requested but will be subcontracted to a NVLAP accredited laboratory.

Prime Analytical Inc. is accredited by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology, National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP Lab code 600218-0) and the relevant requirements of ISO 17025:2017) for the identification of asbestos in bulk samples. We also participate in round robin testing with the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation (CALA) for asbestos fibre counting in air samples.
